- Location & Climate
Interstate 15 and its connecting arterials provide convenient links to San Diego, Riverside, Orange County and Los Angeles. The Temecula Valley is located in southwest Riverside County, south of Los Angeles and north of San Diego. Lake Elsinore, Fallbrook, Hemet, Moreno Valley, and Riverside are in close proximity.
The valley is bordered on the west by Camp Pendleton Marine Corps Base and the Cleveland National Forest. Elevations range from 1,175 feet in the east to 2,600 feet on the west. The weather is comparable to the Napa Valley, as evidenced by a burgeoning wine industry, with warm, dry days and cool evenings. Although separated from the Pacific by the Santa Rosa range, the Rainbow Gap funnels the mild beach climate into the valley, sweeping away the smog. The quality of air in the Temecula Valley is consistently better than that of surrounding communities. In the summer, Pacific winds yield temperatures up to 10 degrees lower than in towns just a few miles away! Average summer highs are 85 degrees; winter lows 39.
